We recognize the impact our business can have on the environment might be small, but we believe that any companies that can do more, should do, no matter how big the impact seems to be.
Therefore we are working continuously to minimize our footprint and support more and more communities to increase their welfare. We also see sustainability challenges as opportunities to keep improving our process, products and operation.
Environment
Solar Energy for Factory Operation
In 2020 Intrafood Singabera Indonesia started to use renewable energy to reduce our carbon footprint. The solar panel installed above the factory may address up to 25 percents of its electricity consumption.
Rain Water Harvesting (RWH)
Located in tropical country where adequate rainfall depths are available spread trhough the year, Intrafood Singabera Indonesia installed RWH system in its new factory build in 2018. Particularly during the wet season, the factory can operate 100 percent with rain water.
Zero Waste Ginger Products
Tonnes of ginger are processed daily in our facility. First, we cold-pressed ginger for the main ingredient of our ginger drink products, then the ginger pulp is distilled, resulting pure ginger oil and the distilling dregs is to be delivered to our farm for animal feed or to be composted.
Eco-friendly Packaging
We reduce the environmental impact of packaging by:
Reducing packaging usage by optimizing the packaging format and choosing recyclable material.
Continuously simplifying our material choices and using innovative packaging materials, like biodegradable soilon tea filter, instead of nylon filter.
